Walt Disney Imagineering recently gave a small media preview for approximately 1/3 of the forthcoming Rise of the Resistance attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge:

:spoiler:Mild Spoilers are below, do not read below if you wish to be completely surprised:spoiler:

The setting: Rise of the Resistance will be set in a wooded area next to the “Star Wars” village of Black Spire Outpost on the remote planet of Batuu. The Resistance has set up an military outpost in the forest to avoid detection by First Order troops.

The queue: Visitors enter near a Resistance gun turret, wander through rock tunnels filled with high-tech military gear and weave past lockers filled with flight suits. The rebels have cut passageways using laser torches and supported the tunnels with hydraulic struts.

The set-up: An animatronic BB8 rolls around the Ready Room. A holographic Rey from “The Force Awakens” asks us to go on a dangerous off-planet mission for the Resistance to fight against the First Order. Resistance pilot Poe Dameron will be our wingman.

The first ride: About 50 riders rush past Poe’s full-size X-Wing and board a transport ship. Jowled-faced smuggler Nien Nunb sits in the cockpit. The doors close, the engines spool up and the ship takes off. Standing riders feel the floor shake and move.

Inside a Star Destroyer: After a space battle, the transport ship is sucked by tractor beam onto a Star Destroyer. The doors open and 50 storm troopers await in formation. TIE fighters swoop past on a 100-foot-wide screen. First Order officers bark orders at the riders.

The detention center: Riders are separated into smaller groups and thrown in a jail cell. Kylo Ren arrives to interrogate the prisoners, who must find a way to escape.

It sounds like an elaborate escape room

This sounds awesome, but I wonder how many people will be freaked out by being yelled at & tossed in a detention cell. C'mon imagineers, a little more detail please!

I do believe we are in for a treat... No expense being wasted for this land...

That was my first though too, Brad.

Not quite sure on the "jail cell" comment in the article. Earlier reports leaked from the ride construction indicated that the trackless ride vehicle would be a "holding cell" for the prisoners.

While total immersive entertainment is the next extension of what Walt started, it does require a fully invested audience. I do wonder how long it takes for the first Guest to not understand its part of the story and cause an issue.

Seems like there would be many other scenarios to begin to fully immerse Guests in a 4-D story other than being interrogated or thrown into a jail cell .....
