I remember that awhile back, goods bought in WDW shops could be sent back to your room for resort guests.

They do send back to the resort hotel... but i think now you have to pick it up at the shop of your hotel now. also it can take up to 2 days to get to your hotel. (while in most cases its a day)

I can confirm what Capt said. Most places, they send it to the gift shop at the resort you are staying at and you pick it up there. Can take up to two days but I've only seen that when we bought something very late at a park.

We did it all the time, nobody wants to carry a bag around all day or have to come back later on the way out when the stores are packed. I remember back when you would come back to your room and your package was sitting on the bed, I think at times on the same day as purchased. Still a very convenient benefit of staying on site.

If you are staying concierge level, they still deliver to your room. Otherwise, as already noted, they deliver to the resort gift shop and you pick up there.

Yes. Just to clarify ... if you are checking out the NEXT day, they won't let you ship it back to the resort, since there is a good chance you'll leave before it gets there.
I've actually had them ask a number of times if we were checking out "within the next two days".

Me too.
Even if you are within your last couple of days, you can have your packages sent to the front of the park and pick them up on your way out.
