I have seen reports of traffic and parking issues when traveling to DTD. We will be heading there at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon in a couple of weeks. Our original plan was to drive and park in the DTD area. Now, I am wondering if I should rethink that plan. Any thoughts on how busy it may be at the time of day. Should we take the bus instead of driving? We will be going on a Wednesday if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance!
I would say probably take the bus. Even during the day it seems traffic is a nightmare right now. You can find a parking place, you just may have to drive around a while. I suppose it depends on how patient you're willing to be in looking.

Even with taking the bus it is a nightmare but I would recommend taking the bus because parking is worse.
It's a nightmare. We went to Legoland a few weeks back and thought that we could stop by DTD for a bite to eat before heading back to the airport. WRONG! Traffic was backed up off the highway about a mile (which is still a couple miles from DtD). We thought, eh, I'll sneak around the back, WRONG! Even going around by Old Key West AND SSR, was a nightmare, finally got into the parking lot and there was nothing.
We left, had a great dinner at Olivia' at OKW, and then back to the airport.
If you can bus to SSR and walk that's not a bad plan, the boat ride from OKW takes forever. Personally, there's not much worth going to DTD for except food, but unless you have reservations, it might be tough getting I to any place, of course it does depend on the time of year/week/day. Wednesday lunch you won't see the above, but it's still going to be a bother with traffic.
We went yesterday, a Wednesday, via bus from the Beach Club. We left at 4:30 pm.
We arrived at 5:05. That was after a 10 minute stop at BW due to an ECV boarding the bus.
We hit absolutely no traffic.
After La Nouba, we left DTD at 10:00 via bus.
Once again, we hit no traffic on the way to BC. We were back by 10:25.
