The Magic Kingdom park has internally announced the replacement for the Island Supply store in Adventureland.
In contrast to the early Cast speculation of an attraction themed store, the park has announced the location will become the first in-park location operated by Sunglass Hut International. The location will reportedly be named Island Supply Sunglass Hut and is scheduled to open on January 8, 2015.
The following is the initial news item concerning the closure of the Island Supply:

10/20/14 An Adventureland retail mainstay is schedule to close later this week. It has been internally announced that the Island Supply retail location is scheduled to permanently close on October 22, 2014 to make way for a new retail offering. Although details for the new retail location have not been announced, some Cast have speculated that the replacement could be a Jungle Cruise gift shop.

Personally not a fan of this move. Throwing a Sunglass Hut in Adventureland just doesn't do it for me, too commercial. I have visions of the beginning of a strip mall.

Not happy about it. I've never been to one and sure don't want one at WDW.

I think I'm kinda sad about this ... I bought the best hat ever in the old store.
But, there aren't a lot of good sunglasses at Disney, and as long as they theme it well (as I'm sure they will), it may be a popular place.
Now, a Jungle Cruise shop could have been quite cool!

I agree with Heather, the sunglasses selection at Disney is pretty poor. Hubby has lost or broken his glasses more than once and couldn't find any worth buying.

I'm actually pretty happy about this. I've lost my good sunglasses at the parks before and had to settle for the pathetic selection. I need my good sunglasses due to sensitive eyes, and I was miserable.
