Hello all, We are going to Disneyworld for my son's wish trip in September and I was wondering if the Carousel of Progress will be open then or not? I know it is a "seasonal ride" but I am not sure if September is seasonal enough..lol. Thanks in advance!! :mickey:

It is not a seasonal attraction. It is open year round, unless down for maintenance.

It was only under "seasonal operation" during the post-9/11 tourism downturn. It quickly picked back up, and CoP has operated daily since about...2004ish? It generally opens an hour after park opening, and closes one hour before park closing.

But *which version* do you "remember liking as a kid"? "Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow (1993-present), or "Now is the Time" (1973-1993)? Smile

I have seen both & I enjoy both - that being said the current one especially the song seems to stay with me longer. Seeing the words of the tittle was enough for the melody to start swirling in my head similar to IASW.

Are the speaking dialogues different for each version or just the songs?

If a time machine were ever invented, I definitely use it to visit Disney in previous decades. :mickey:

Two totally different shows - of which you can find both on YouTube. Smile

I have seen both Jim. I started going to Disney in 1975 and went steadily from then until 2005 I think it was. I know both songs. I watched "If you had wings" change into multiple rides and many rides lose their main supporter IE; Epcot spaceship earth lost AT&T after a while and they yanked the big phone and all the phoning gadgets from underneath the ride.. etc. I also watched Tomorrowland get a complete facelift. I have been well over 50 times in my lifetime Smile as we use to live in Florida.

Saw it twice the same day during my trip last week... Played to half full, or half empty, theater... But the attraction looked in better shape from the last time I saw it in 2013...
