We will be at WDW at the end of August. DHS opens at 9am then. Will we be held at rope drop till then or be allowed to go to some of the rides beforehand? I definitely remember being able to get into Toy Story Land a bit early in recent years. Thanks.

Although nothing is certain with Disney, especially these days, I suspect that "opening" will continue to be a bit ahead of the official posted time. Even in pre-covid times, there were days when we were held until exactly the opening time and other days when we had completed a ride "before" it opened.
