Leaving Show/Ride Mid Show

I have exited PhilharMagic, It's tough to be a bug, the Nemo show and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show with a child. Generally all the shows have an exit that can be used. When my children where younger and I thought it was likely we would have to leave,I tried to sit near the end of the row when possible so I wouldn't have to climb over people.

I'm not sure on COP. I've heard that for someone to leave they have to stop the ride but I've never left that one so I am not sure if that is true.

I believe they even have to stop COP if someone stands up. It is not safe to be standing while it is moving.

This! Exactly!! If you think you might not be here for the entire show, don't enter. Everytime they stop the show, it starts from the beginning of the scene you were in. Unless it's a true emergency, make yourself comfortable for the entire show.

Other shows typically have an out that is minimally disruptive to others. Rides, of course, do not have an out once you are on the ride unless it breaks down and cast members need to escort you off.

You're not supposed to leave during COP.

One time a Mom left with her son. She left in the middle of a scene but it threw the entire ride into a frenzy. A CM got on the intercom and starting hollering. I'm not sure who her tirades were directed at because the Mom was gone by then. Additionally, the ride stopped it's rotation in the middle of scenes during the next spin. We were just sitting there with one scene to our right, a wall, and then the other scene to our left. It was utter chaos.

I know I've heard them tell us there should be no exiting during the show, but I don't remember if that warning is given every time.

Ok, that's what I sort of thought was the case with COP, and why I haven't tried it since having DS, but I'm glad I've not got confirmation. It had seemed to me that most shows you could exit pretty easily if needed, with the exception of COP since it's part show/part ride. Hopefully I'll get to watch it soon :mickey:

How old is your son?

Its a great cool place for a young child - or even an "older" one to grab some zzzzzs.

This is a must do for me every time we're there - I always try to find details that I never noticed before. Not a napping place for me

CoP was originally in Disneyland. When WDW opened, they replaced CoP in Disneyland with America Sings. It was in the old CoP building, and based on the same rotating audience technology. A cast member was crushed to death between a stationary wall and rotating wall. So, Disney is pretty serious about folks remaining seating and not exiting CoP during the show.

All the other shows allow for exiting during the show. If you think it will be a problem, I would suggest that you sit on the far end of the theater so you can exit without stepping in front of other folks.

I got the impression that simply opening the door threw everything out of whack. I wouldn't recommend leaving at all. The Mom that left during our ride never crossed in front of anyone. She was at the end of an aisle, fairly close to the door.

CoP *is* indeed a "ride", just like Space Mountain, small world, or Expedition: Everest.

As a former CoP Cast Member, I can tell you that if your "ride" stopped in between scenes, that the attraction rotation was stopped by the ride operator - not an "automatic stop". The doors will NOT open if the ride is in motion just for that reason.

However, if the ride is *stopped* (in the middle of performing a scene) and a guest opens a door to leave, it will not permit the attraction to rotate - which is why some guests will see a scene more than once.

If they see a guest attempting to stand up/leave on their security monitor while the ride is in motion, they will "E-stop" (emergency stop) to the ride and send a "runner" around the outside of the attraction to try and find the perpetrator(s).

*Most* guests that attempt to leave the attraction will usually wait until the ride stops, at least.

Yes, the "Remain seated at all times" spiel is given each and every time during the CM's spiel at the very beginning of the show.

...And I would always add, "...as our attraction rotates at three-thousand, six-hundred-and-fifty-seven rotations per minute". :P I would always get a good laugh from my audience.

Other "theatre-style" shows - Country Bear Jamboree, Mickey's PhilHarMAGIC, It's Tough to be a Bug, Finding Nemp - The Musical, etc., you should have no problem exiting the theatre.
