Do you go to the Magic Kingdom during the day when Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be happening that night? The only other day we could visit the Magic Kingdom is on Saturday.

So my choices are to go on Thursday or Friday with MVMCP happening that night or to go on Saturday.

Thank you for your help.

We've found in the past that the MK isn't very busy (or as busy as usual) on MVMCP days. I think it's mainly because those who have base tickets don't want to waste a day on a park that's closing early. We have found that Epcot tends to be busier on MVMCP days since that park is usually open the latest unless DHS has an EMH.

Wishes and the Electrical Parade are not held on the party nights. The trade off is smaller crowds until party time nears.

I usually recommend taking a day off from the parks on Party nights, sleeping in, shopping, dining....then getting to MK as early as 4:00pm using only your Party tickets to get in.

If you *must* do the MK during the day, take a break at about 1:00 - head back to your resort, shower, eat, clean up, relax for a little bit - then head back to the park at like 5 or 6:00pm.

The tradeoff is, like others have said, is there is no (regular) Wishes fireworks or night parade on Party nights.

Like some of the others have said, it will most likely be the least crowded park that day but that's not a guarantee, if you have AP's or hoppers I would try it but if you have base tickets I'd do Epcot or DHS.

It sounds like you are not going to the party. is that correct?

The first decision is how important are the nighttime activities (parade and fireworks) are to you. If so as Altair mentioned you will not be able to see them on a a party night if you are not attending the party which forces you to a Saturday visit. However if nighttime activities are important to you, you need to plan for crowds if you do go Saturdays.

In general I try to avoid MK on Saturday because they are such a busy day. During party season especially with Thursday and Friday night parties during the week, the park is going to be very crowded. Many people do not want to "waste" a ticket when MK closes early and those people will go on Saturday.

As far as the party day itself, can you get to the park early? If so morning crowds on a party day tend to be quieter than normal (due to the not wanting to waste a ticket crowd) plus people who don't have hoppers and do have party tickets do not want to use them to come for the morning when they have the party that night. The majority of party goers show up between 4 and 7. If you can time it right, you can have a very successful day on a party day.

If you want to see/do EVENING activities then go on a NON party day because CMs are very diligent about pushing non-party park guests out before the party - and that pushing starts about an hour before the party starts with 'lands' away from the hub closing to day guests.
