For us there are things that we never go on and things we sometime skip. A lot of it depends on our mood but this past trip we skipped Splash bc we weren't up for getting wet, and Buzz lightyear bc we just don't LOVE it...

It's not about skipping attractions for us. It's more about doing the rides that we enjoy twice a day - in the morning and later that day after returning to the hotel for lunch and a swim break.
With that said, our must-do attractions are Buzz Lightyear, the Carousel of Progress, the People Mover, the Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents and Pirates of the Caribbean. My wife also loves the train ride.
We have no problems skipping Peter Pan, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the Tea Cups, It's a Small World, the Speedway, Stitch's Great Escape, Astro Orbiter, the Jungle Cruise, Splash and Big Thunder Mountains, the Country Bear Jamboree and the riverboat.
That's just us though. We've been going together since 2006 and we know what we like and what we can live without.
Having been many times and with all my kids now adults, I now prefer to work in short visits whenever I have the chance to be in FL on business.
For this reason, I choose to see favorites and ones I haven't enjoyed in while.
During my next trip, in Feb 2015, I am planning an afternoon at DHS to do Animation, Indy show, One Mans Dream and Fantasmic
Another day at Epcot I will do Ellen Energy, Imagination (NEVER Capt EO), etc
We managed to get a good bit done in MK Sunday. Jungle Cruise, Pirates, BTMRR, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Philharmagic, Hall of Presidents, a ride on the train, MVMC parade, Buzz Lightyear, People Mover, Carousel of progress, laugh floor & Stitch.
