Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom has been announced to be closed for most of the Fall 2017 season.

The popular attraction is planned to be closed August 28 through November 16, 2017.

The announcement is unique in that the attraction has not typically closed for major maintenance during this time period. The attraction typically closes during the colder (by Florida standards) months when the ride is likely to be less popular.

WHAT!?!? :jaw: How DARE they close Splash during our ICOT 20th meet! :down: Don't they understand? :fit:

In all seriousness though, if this is true I hope they give the attraction the TLC it needs - a complete cleaning, get ALL the effects working properly again, and (knock on wood) add a few new features! :mickey:

We will be arriving the morning of August 26th so we will have to hit Splash at least a couple of times that day. Always like to do it during at least once during the day and at night. Already plan on AK and EPCOT on August 27 and don't want to change our schedule/dinner reservations. So we will definitely be spending some extra time in Frontierland our first day at WDW.
