In Hollywood Studios today.
Not only is the Hat gone, but the construction walls are gone today. They were still up on Saturday. I assume they were down yesterday for May the Fourth.
The backstage portion of the new stage is not complete - they're still building ramps and stairs. But with the new palm trees flanking the stage, the whole thing now frames the theatre (as seen from Hollywood Blvd). It's looking very nice.

I hadn't even thought about it, but the walls were down when we were there on Sunday. The only thing blocking the full view of the theater was the stage.
Also, there were characters in front of the theater in the afternoon. I don't know that they were scheduled, and there were no PhotoPass photographers, but Chip & Dale, Pluto and Goofy were all out there for meet & greet pics.
