The Magic Kingdom park has announced two 2018 Winter refurbishments of popular attractions.
Pirates of the Caribbean is scheduled to be closed February 26 through March 18, 2018. It is expected that the previously announced scene replacement will occur during this refurbishment.
Splash Mountain is scheduled to be closed January 8 through February 1, 2018. It is not clear if the ongoing refurbishment is being abridged to accommodate for the Peak 2017 Holiday Season and this closure will complete the full restoration or if this second closure is a wholly separate refurbishment.

The scene replacement was bad news. That it's happening during my upcoming vacation is worse news. A Disney vacation without POC. Somebody else better tell my family, they are not going to take it well.
First trip: 1992 with sister, last trip 2018 with grandchild, not done yet!
We will be there then as well and tried to find alternative dates, but nothing works. It stinks that it is while we are there.
