We left the night before to have a shorter drive the next morning. We made it to Kingsland, GA about 10PM, went to the room and straight to sleep. We were out at 5AM which got us to Boardwalk just before 8AM. By the time we got all the initial stuff taken care of, the room was not ready. Since the car was out front, we chose to just drive over to DHS since we were almost half way there at the guest parking.
It was EMH morning at DHS. We were able to hit RnRC 3x, ToT 3x, and off to Star Tours. The 20 minute STs wait turned out to be a 1 hour wait. Oh well. In between hitting attractions, my daughter started her week long pin hunt. She loves trading for whatever catches her eye.
We get a small bite to eat, see some of the street performers, and then head over to our FPs for TSMM. Just as we get on the ride, it breaks down. They were nice enough to give us FP for any time until the end of the month. It was Jan 31st, so had to be used that day. We were not walking back to DHS just to go on TSMM. We asked if we could get one for during our stay, but they refused (Thank You WDW!!!).
We wander around some more shopping, pin trading, watching what is going on. We get the message the room is ready so we head back to Boardwalk. Excellent room and location. The balcony faced DHS and you could see ToT and where they roast marshmallows. We were just a short distance to the main pool where we spent the rest of the afternoon and DD playing the pool games with others.
After a long day and night the day before, we just stayed around BW to see the entertainers and have a bite at ESPN. The BW performers are excellent and enjoyable. There were usually 3 performers each night. They make for fun relaxing evening.
Pros
Boardwalk is in an excellent location. Walk to Epcot and DHS cannot be beaten.
BW performers are fun to watch
Room was excellent and in a great location
Cons
Not getting a FP that was usable for a broken down ride. I can understand it being abused, but if you just start your vacation, there has to be some accommodations
1 Week at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 06/17/17 - 06/24/17; 1 Week at Orange Lake Resort 06/24/17 - 06/30/17; 1 week at OKW 12/03/17 - 12/10/17
Glad you made it safely and are settled into your resort.
It seems really odd they would give you a fast pass good for the rest of the month on the last day of the month!!

You sure packed a lot of repeat star attractions in after just pulling into Orlando. How cool is that?!!! While the TSM FP sounds like total ridiculousness, it sounds like the rest of day was great. Hoping no more breakdowns this trip! :mickey:

I have NEVER been in the Toy Story line without it breaking down....usually for long periods of time.
One trip we waited 1 hour in line and it broke down with only 5 people in front of us. It was our last day there and my nieces one and only trip to WDW. They weren't flexible with the FP with us either.
I don't even bother anymore. IMO it's a fun ride but not worth the long lines and consistent aggravation from the break downs. I'd rather just skip it altogether.

That's terrible they didn't give you a pass for longer than the day. Seriously...this whole FP system is simply maddening!!!!!
Other than that you are off to a great start!

I agree the Fast Pass system is simply crazy! I'm surprised the cast member did not offer another fast pass since it was the end of the month.
