The next morning, Thursday, I picked the kids up at the resort, packed the car, and had another breakfast at the food court. I still had many things on my to do list before the wedding.
First on the list was a trip to DTD to buy a few wedding presents from the kids. There were really many things that caught my eye, but I left it up to the kids to pick out what they wanted. We bought a beautiful picture frame, a coffee mug set, and a bride and groom ears that were Christmas Ornaments. Luckily, with the Main Gate pass, I was able to save 20% on these purchases. We then poked around a little in The Lego Store and let Hallie play a little.
We then went off to Target to pick up some gifts that had not yet been purchased from their registry as well as wrapping paper and a few more things we had forgotten. When we finished we went back to Ron's, wrapped everything and waited for him to come back from work. Then we had dinner at BJ's since we enjoyed it in June and Ron and Matt had not been with us. Then we dropped all the girls back at Ron's, while the rest of us went out to buy dress shoes, and pick up Ron's suit. We spent another cramped night there, but this time Hallie and Emily got the floor.
Next day we took our time getting ready and then packed up both cars and headed for the rehearsal at Hammock Dunes Club and the rehearsal dinner at Hammock Beach Resort where we checked in for the next 2 days. We hit some traffic on 95 and was afraid we'd be late after being warned not to. We quickly checked in and changed and made it to the club only to find we're the first ones there! Anyhoo, the rehearsal went smoothly and we went back to the hotel for the dinner hosted by Jason's parents and step father. Dinner was quite lively since his parents also invited many of their out of town family, many of them traveling from Venezuela. I don't think I've ever hugged and kissed so many complete strangers.
Ah, the wedding day has finally arrived. At noon, I delivered Ashleigh and Emily to the club to get their hair done and get ready with the other bridesmaids. Hallie and I went off to get our hair done at a salon down the road. The guys got mostly ready at the hotel and arrived about 3. Just as they were arriving, Courtney needed me to run a quick errand for her, so I had Ron drive me. When we returned, the guys went to hang out with Jason and his groomsmen, while I was with the bridesmaids. Hallie was flower girl, and since there are no young males in the family, Jason's cousin Lizzy was the ring bearer. The two had become fast friends yesterday and we're now inseparable. The photographer came and got lots of fabulous pre-wedding pics. Before long it was time for the ceremony. The procession started with Jason's father and his significant other Chris, then his mother Carolina and her husband Doug, then Matt escorted me. The groomsmen came next. Jason's best friend, friends since pre-school was best man, then another friend from Ct., Taylor, their friend from Florida Tech, Paul and Jason's brothers Kyle and RYan were all included. Then the bridesmaids, Maid of Honor Katie, sorority sister and two other sorority sisters Megan and Norah, her little and grand little, followed by Ashleigh and Emily. Then the flower girl Hallie, and ring bearer Lizzy came down together holding hands, which led to Hallie almost forgetting to Ross the petals. Then the bride and her dad! She looked absolutely amazing! Just glowing and so, so happy. Jason turned to see his bride and was overcome as was the rest of both families. The ceremony was beautiful and they each wrote their own vows that were so perfect! I know I'm bias, but today I was allowed to be. More pictures followed, then cocktail hour was on the terrace, and reception in the ballroom! Everything was just perfect! The weather was amazing, food out of this world, they had a great DJ. I can't say enough! Her planner was wonderful, the staff at the venue, so accomodating! The florist did a wonderful job with the flowers and Jason's uncle just wowed everyone with the centerpieces!
We all had a wonderful time, but Ron did have to leave a little early to drive back to Orlando as he needed to go to work early the next morning, but definitely not before the father/ daughter dance which made us all tear up. The party was in full swing and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
The bride and groom then left for the after party, while we were charged with collecting the gifts and bringing them to their house tomorrow, while the newlyweds headed to Saratoga Springs for a quick Disney Honeymoon.
The next morning we headed down to Melbourne to deliver the gifts, then the girls had some fun at the beach before we grabbed lunch at one of out usual spots, then back to Orlando. Too tired to go out, we ordered in and spent another night at Ron's. Suddenly it doesn't seem so cramped as we have learned to make good use of the limited space.
Part 7 will conclude this trip
P.S. I hope I haven't put you to sleep with all the wedding talk. I just couldn't seem to leave out the details!
