I managed to get a half decent spot for the first showing of Illuminations with the holiday ending and then did a bit more wandering before my 8:30 dinner at Teppan Edo. I was glad for the ADR, every food and beverage outlet had super long lines. The food was good, not quite as good as our place at home but tasty. Next I hit O Canada for the first time in about 25 years. I wandered back towards the US, Italy, etc but in both Italy and China there were djs playing really loud music. I mean REALLY loud, I would have recommended earplug for the little ones. I rode the Mexico ride and went hunting for a bathroom. By now most restrooms had lines of 20-30 mins. I was glad I hadn't had much alcohol. I found a spot to hang out starting about 11pm on the walkway from the old Odyessy restaurant towards the center area (hard to explain). I sat on the ground awhile, glad for black shorts but my feet were just done. The fireworks were amazing!! Luckily where I was I was able to pretty quickly head to the front and grab a cab back to PO. I was back by 12:30 actually which I thought was great.
My friend I had been waiting for arrived about 3am after travel delays. Even with the lack of sleep I was up by 6:30am on the first. My friend was exhausted as well so we were a little slow. Getting up and ready but we still made it to MK by I think around 8:30. It was very quiet at first and you could have ridden a lot before 10am when everyone else woke up. We rode Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets and walked around a bit before heading to the new Jungle Bavigation rest for an early walk up. It was just ok I agree with others who say you don't get much for your money. The shu mi dumplings were good but the Mac and cheese was just not. It was recommended by the server but it was a bit like sloppy joe meat with pasta and white sauce. It was ok but I would not get it again. I actually watched two kids spit it out (oops). After our early lunch we caught the 12 parade (a first for both of us). We rode the Peoplemover with a short line and the. Headed back to POR for a quick shoe swap. We left about 2:30 for the Studios where we had fast passes starting at 3:30pm for tower of terror, the frozen sing along and toy story midway mania. All good but all the other lines were out of control. We had a 7pm ADR for Hollywood and vine for Minnie's holiday dine. Which was cute and all the food was actually excellent. Some of the best I've had at WDW. We finished up and spent some time at the Osborne lights (which was our original reason for the whole trip.). It wasn't too busy. We headed back to the bus about 8:30pm (still not quite recovered from the night before.).
This morning we are headed to AK and then have evening fast passes for MK.
