I should be working this morning but thought I would take a minute to type up a little pre-trip report. Back in Sept. I planned a little long weekend in Dec with my new AP in the hopes to see some of the Christmas shows and decorations. Work has been busy and it's been up in the air as to if I could go or not but it's looking like I can so...

I tried to find someone to come with me on this trip but it just didn't work out. I'm super cool with a solo weekend as I don't get much "alone" time. I'm trying some new things that I haven't previously tried in all my trips to WDW so here goes...

I'm stay Thursday-Sunday nights (Dec. 15th-19th) at the Coronado Springs Resort in a Business Class room. I hope I don't enjoy it too much as I heard this will no longer be offered in 2017. I've never stayed at this resort.

Thursday-Drive down, not sure how early I'll get to head out so I have FP for Peter Pan, BTMRR and Haunted Mansion between 3-6:30pm. I hope to do some hotel hopping in the evening to catch Christmas stuff and maybe watch the MVMCP fireworks from somewhere on the resort loop. If I want sit down dinner I might try Grand Floridian Cafe (where I have never been) or the Wave's bar area. Contempo Cafe or the Sushi counter at the Poly are other options.

Friday-I hope to head back to MK at rope drop to ride 7DMT and a couple others before heading to Epcot for a 1:05 lunch ADR (with Candlelight) at Biergarden. I've never eaten here and looking forward to it. Lunch here was one of the more reasonable options for a 8:15 reservation for the CP. I have afternoon FP for Soarin, Seas and Spaceship Earth.

Saturday-I hope to hit Animal Kingdom for Early Morning Entry and check off a few of my favorites. I might take a break back at the resort around lunchtime with evening plans back at MK. I have evening FP for Pirates, Space Mtn and 7DMT with 8:05 ADRs at Tony's (where again, I have never eaten.) Hope to catch Wishes if I'm not too tired. I think MK is open pretty late.

Sunday-Up for Early Entry at the Studios to hit Toy Story, ToT and RnRC and maybe an early lunch at PizzaRizzo if I'm still there at lunchtime before heading back to Epcot for the rest of the day. I have afternoon FP for a meet up with Mickey, The Land and Frozen (6-7pm) and then an ADR at Maya Grill back at my resort (where I have never eaten) so I can pack up and tuck in early for a Monday drive home and back to work!!

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

I've taken numerous solo trips to WDW, including a couple in early December, primarily to see all of the resorts' holiday looks. My first Christmas trip included a stay in a Rancheros room at CSR. Your pre-trip report makes me wish I could do it again but due to some health issues, I can no longer take solo trips.

I see you are going to one of my new favorite TS, Grand Floridian Cafe. Several trips ago, my family surprised me with dinner there on Mother's Day. We enjoyed it so much it is now a regular ADR.

Enjoy your trip.

It's been about 10 years since we I've stayed at Coronado but it remains one of our favorite resort experiences. My mom went with my sister 2 years ago for a conference and still loved it, although I did hear the refurbs were really needed. Hope you have better luck at Tony's than we did, it was one of worst meals ever. All your other plans sound lovely. Have a great time.

Unless you are in the Orlando metro area then usually everyone goes with at least someone else. It might be fun to be able to go, hang out and enjoy the vibe. Call me crazy but I'm just as happy sitting on a bench or rocker watching the people go by as I am in riding any WDW thrill ride for the nth time.
