Are neck gaiters a no no at Universal like at Disney? I asked online and was told they needed to cover the nose and mouth and secure around the chin but wasn't given a yes or no answer. To me a gaiter seems more secure at the chin as it continues down the neck allowing for less particles to escape out the side or underneath.

From what I’ve read and seen, they are allowed for now. It’s what I wear and I’m disappointed Disney isn’t allowing them.

I don't understand why WDW isn't allowing them. They are probably more effective than the cheap cloth masks people are wearing. You can almost see right through some of the masks they are so thin.

Yeah I do the gaiters or handkerchief scarves (think vietnam). They want double fabric is their mandate on what a mask is.

If people will wear it with minimal complaining, let them. If people were that concerned, they should re-examine the idea of going to a park in the first place.

I'm surprised they don't mandate disney purchased masks (that you order and receive along w/ your magic band) or some permutation there of.

I am surprised they're not allowing them too. From what I've read, gaiters are actually considered pretty effective, as long as they're not super thin. Plus they're a lot more comfortable for some people to wear.

If you wear a full gas mask though, it really freaks people out. Boy is it hot though.

Gas masks only filter breathing in and just simply vent out don't they? For coronavirus they say masks work the best when those infected but don't know it yet are wearing them to catch the particles they breathe out. I guess the guy wearing the gas mask is protecting himself very well from potentially breathing it in and catching it but if he were to get infected and be breathing it out, he would be spewing it everywhere even with the gas mask on.

Depends on the gas mask. Military grade, one way in and out.

A good question is how much a military-grade respirator will cost. I really want to believe that we will soon stop the virus. Vaccination is already starting slowly and it is a matter of time before the population will receive their doses of the vaccine. Until the elderly, people with chronic diseases, doctors, teachers are vaccinated, the rest are waiting and hoping for an early solution to the problem.
