Normally I would say stay where you can get express pass. However, the last few times we visited we did not need express pass and couldn't beat the price of the rooms at Cabana Bay. It's a fun resort at an excellent price. It worked for us, even tho I had once said we would never stay there because we like to have express pass when we visit Universal.

I have Sapphire Falls reserved for September with the $150 free dining. Last year we didn't really need Express since our main target was HHN and is the same this year. I am really looking forward to seeing the new resort!

sorta interested to see Sapphire too. looks like it might b a low crowd time. cabana looks interesting too. so im on the fence of saving money or having the express pass. AP rates are better w RP in terms of dollars off than cabana bay...

I really liked Cabana Bay when we have stayed there. It feels "happy". I have stayed in both a family suite and a regular room. Both were just fine. Pools are great.

We stayed in one of CB's suites shortly after the resort opened and thought it was great. Lots of fun things to do there; we had a blast bowling one evening! The shuttle were quick transportation and ran frequently.

I doubt you'll need the Express Pass in September, but you can always purchase it for one day if you want to get as many rides on your favorites as you can (aside from the HP ones, of course).

seems Sapphire Falls is the same price as Cabana Bay with Annual Pass discount. so...idk if its worth buying an AP if we return next yr, and maybe use it for Blue Man Group discount.
