Hello,

We are staying at POFQ in Sept. We are going to go to US/IOA for 1 day out of our trip. We haven't visited US/IOA for a number of years. Just DH and myself We have done mears shuttle in the past, but now are wondering if taxi might be a more flexible option. Would it be that much more expensive? Any suggestions or thoughts?

I do know that a 1-day rental car is available but we'd just rather shuttle or taxi and not worry about the driving and hassle of pick up and drop off.
Thank you!!
Kari

You may want to check that, when we used them it was $80 plus gratuity, I would use them again though, the return trip pick-up worked like clockwork.

That being said, car rentals that time of year are pretty cheap.. Especially for more than 1 day, is often cheaper. Prices change from week to week, good deals pop up. Car adds a lot of flexibility.

Thanks for the input! I did go out to check quicksilver and it is $85 round trip before gratuity.
Will have to give this a little more thought. Not sure how the return trip goes with Quicksilver. We used Mears shuttle about 10 years ago, so not sure if this has changed but you got a towncar on the way to the attraction but had a shuttle that you had specific return times for on the way back. Not too crazy about having to watch the time for a return trip.

When we booked we let them know what time to be picked up for the return trip.

You are right that was a one way cost. In the end we used Mears to go from the Poly to Universal and it was $50 plus tip, we just took a cab home as it was easier not to be on a time table to leave, that said we stayed until 6:30 anyway.

The OP's trip is already done but just in case anyone wants to know...we took a cab (one way) from the POFQ to Universal and it was $33 without tip. There were two of us.
