I'm so special I get a second Father's Day (kidding, my wife wanted to stay).  We took our time getting up and checking out as we really didn't need to do early entry.  We took the boat over to IOA and went over to The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.  We skipped the Hulk roller coaster because I think it's a little too rough.  After Spider-Man we headed back to the passholder lounge to hang out and get water - it was already hot - then we got on Skull Island.  Next we went over to Hogsmead and into the Hog's Head.  We got a drink and were able to secure our favorite sitting spot by the little window.  We did some more wand adventures before getting on Hagrid's again.  Gotta say I love Express line for this even though you have to skip most of the cool queue.  Next some more wand adventures and into 3 Broomsticks for lunch.  After walking a bit, we went over to VelociCoaster (Express line and front row again!)

We went back to HarryPotterLand and got on the Hogwarts Express to go over to US.  In Diagon Alley we did some more wand adventuring and then rode Gringotts.  We left Diagon and went the long way over to the Simpsons Ride (clever name).  Finally we went over to Finnegan's for dinner before the drive home.

Good trip.  We got a lot in the two days.  As of this writing we'll be back in 10 days for a 5 day (3 at Epic) summer vacation trip.

Looks like you spent quite a lot of time in the Harry Potter sections of the park.  Sounds like a fun and relaxed trip!!

We had just gotten the gen 2 wands so we were doing a lot of the adventures.  It is time consuming but fun.

How much time would you say it would take to do the Harry Potter wand thing? (We are considering going sometime.)

If you're taking a one time trip, you may just want to stick with the 1st Gen wand and do some of the spells.  It's fun to do them and watch others.

If you plan on making a few trips, the 2nd Gen wands may be worth it, but the adventures are immersive and can take a lot of time because you have to complete several steps in order.  As a reference we upgraded to Premire APs so we could get express pass for rides after 4pm and we can just do spell adventures prior to that.  It can really pull you in if you have the patience.

You can download the Universal app and look at the adventures and see what they involve if you're thinking about doing that.
