We just booked the Poly for early September 4-12, just wondering what the weather and crowds might be like during that time.

Early September is still quite hot and humid. You can still expect afternoon thundershowers pretty regularly. There is also the remote possibility of a larger system such as a tropical storm.

Crowds are down from their summer peaks but there really is no time I would call slow any more.

I was there in that timeframe in 2013, the weather was quite hot and humid, and we experienced the most intense thunder/lightning storm I have EVER seen while at Disney. It rained for hours (quite unusual, as rain in central FL tends to pop in and out), but crowds were very manageable the entire week.

We have gone in early September and I have to say that once it was a lot more hot and humid than times we have gone in August. The up side of the trip was that in September the crowds were much lower and we walked on or had little wait for most rides.

Similar to summer weather but the nights tend to cool a little more than in say July. Save some time to swim! Crowds are quite low during this time, look for potential free dining to pop up and call to add it to your reservation! :mickey:

We have been a few times during the month of September (2002, 2009, 2011, 2012 & 2014).

Our last visit in September 2014, as mentioned can be hot and it was extremely hot and humid. No breeze at all, which in past visits was a small relief from the heat. A few showers, but nothing unusual. However, the crowds were amazing. There were so many people at Epcot one day one would have thought all the other parks were closed and everyone ended up at Epcot for the day.

We had a good time (it is after all Disney World) but the crowds took us by surprise. It will be some time before we head back in September.

Hope your visit is less hot and crowded:thumbsup:

We went in September six years ago and thought it was fabulous! Yes, it was still hot but it didn't seem quite as intense as August. Maybe because the days were getting shorter? The crowds were wonderful though! Good luck to you!

I was there for a week this past September, arriving on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It was fairly busy Saturday through Monday and then things really cleared out--particularly at the resorts--it made things extremely relaxing. I found it to be a similar experience the other two times I have been in September, however I've never been at the start of the F&W Festival.

There were still significant waits for attractions like the Mine Train and Midway Mania, but I think that's just the way things are now--the main attractions are always busy.
