Hey guys, so in two weeks, I'll be heading down to WDW with my family and girlfriend. My family are regulars at the parks but my girlfriend is a first-timer (this'll be excited :mickey:).

So what do you guys think are must-do's for a first-timer in WDW? Also, which ride would you say is the perfect "first WDW ride" experience?

My vote for first ride would be Haunted Mansion!

Some other must-do's for me are Soarin', Test Track, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Toy Story Mania, I also always have to do the PeopleMover and Carousel of Progress. I am not a coaster person but if your gf is, you might want to start with Splash or Space Mountain.

Have fun!!

:welcome: to Intercot!

Most people may not consider it a "ride" but riding a Main Street vehicle to the castle and soaking in the sights and sounds could be a great start for a first timer.

Well, I guess it really depends on what she likes.

MK - If she likes roller coasters be sure to do all the big 3 (Space, Splash, Big Thunder). And make sure she see's the fireworks on Main Street in front of the castle - that is the most magical for me. I was just in CA at Disneyland and they told us (since they are celebrating the 60th anniv) that Walt wanted fireworks every night as "kiss goodnight" for the guests - I thought that was so sweet since they are my favorite part.

Also, make sure you get her a "1st visit" pin so that cast members notice her and tell you things that you might not already know - or she just gets more attention Smile

EPCOT - visit Mexico for an avocado margarita down in the tequila bar - it's not on the menu and its' amazing.

AK - the safari ride for sure! and Everest.

DHS - Tower of Terror, Star Wars and Indiana Jones for starters. Tho the great movie ride is fun too. And Rockin Roller Coaster.

Hope that helps!

We have taken quite a few first timers with us. There is a lot of fun seeing the parks, again, through their eyes.

We try to start with MK and we take the boat across the lagoon to it. There seems to be a certain magic in that approach. For first ride, we start with POTC. I have no idea why, it is almost always our first park/first ride on any of our trips.

I hope that she has as much fun as you do. :cloud9:

I vote people mover for the first ride following a stroll up main street, absorbing all the sites and sounds as you head to the hub.

Must do's- Big Thunder Mountain, Fantasmic, Test Track, Pirates, Peter Pan, and 7 Dwarfs.

My then GF now Wife, first ride was Jungle Cruise.

I highly recommend making her first day the MK. The ferry across, main street, then then lands... It's the way to go.
