The past couple years we've gone the last week of August but are now considering the first week. I know it will be more crowded, but how much more? Was anyone there last year during that week? Just trying to go before Big Thunder goes down for refurbishment.

It's considerably more crowded than the end of the month as a lot of folks try to hit that last vacation before school starts but it's certainly not unmanageable. If you have a plan of things most important to hit and use your FP you'll be fine.
