First Try out of the blocks here in January.
Is the FP ressie like dining ressies? Can I book for the whole trip on my opening window? Does it only allow for booking 10 days in advance and I have to check back every day after that? If I have the group arriving on different days, am I only able to book them once their arrival date is up?
Thanks in advance

You can book 60 days in advance of your trip for all of your stay if you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort. If not staying at Disney World, you can book 30 days in advance but only for one day at a time.
If your friends are arriving on a later day than you are, their booking window would open 60 days from date of arrival of a Disney World stay.

The only "catch" is that you can only book for as many days as you have tickets.
So, if you have a 5-day ticket, you'll be able to book 5 days of FP+. (they don't have to be consecutive). This is only a problem if you're planning to add to your tickets once you arrive at Disney.
