We're doing the Backstage Magic tour next week, which requires us to show up just outside the main EPCOT entrance at 8:45. With the park opening at 9:00, will the International Gateway be open early enough for us to walk (we're staying at the Swan) or should we plan on other transportation?

Thanks in advance.

I know they allow you to use the Intl Gateway for the Akershus princess breakfast which starts at 8 AM. I would think they would let you in with a tour confirmation also.

Unless it has changed since I took the Backstage Magic tour, it doesn't require park admission and the meeting place is outside the main entrance to Epcot. Are you planning on using an admission day to Epcot after the Backstage Magic tour is over? If yes, you may be able to walk though the park in the morning and do re-admission after the tour is over. But if you where not planning on a park admission for the day, you would probably need to take an early bus to the main entrance. I would check with a concierge at either the Swan or Beach Club/Boardwalk to get timing advise the day before.

Enjoy the tour. I know it has to have changed since I took it (watching the Body Wars simulators from behind the scenes was one of the highlights) , but it was wonderful.

Thanks, Mom & Bow Tie. The tour does not require park admission, and I assume that will be requried at the International Gateway. One of the considerations is whether we'll hit the parks in the evening anyway so burning a day will not be an issue. Otherwise a bus and transfer, or even a taxi will be our best options. Checking with the concierge is a good idea.

Good point BowTie, I forgot all about that. If you don't wish to use a park admission your best bet would be a taxi. I checked with Mears and the fare should be under $10 but it's always good to check at the front desk. I don't think there is a bus from the Epcot resorts to Epcot.
