I understand that independent shops in Downtown Disney (or whatever it's called now) won't take Disney Gift Cards, but is there anywhere else on property that won't take them? I know that in the past I wasn't able to get a DVC discount in the Japanese pavilion because they weren't run by Disney - does that mean they won't take the gift cards either?

I'd say the world showcase gift shops can be iffy since many of them are independently operated.
Also, some hotel gift shops don't take them either. Like, Basin at the GF, for example.
Also, the Lego store used to accept them but no longer does.
