After a 4 year break from WDW, we are debating a brief visit before we head over to the Tampa area for a family gathering. Tentative dates are June 25-29. How bad are the heavy crowds at this time of year? We know that we'd have to approach this trip a lot differently that we did with our September trips.

Hot and humid to be sure. Crowds can be quite variable at this time of year. Yes, you are in the busy summer season but many schools are just ending right around then. We've been pleasantly surprised by a few June trips. On the other hand, we found at least one June trip to be far more crowded than expected. Hard to tell how it would go this year.

We have gone during that time, many times. As long as you rope-drop you should have no problems at all. We typically exit the park around noon-ish to swim, nap and resort hop, (cool off ) then back to the parks at night.
