:bar::bar: I was saddened at the announcement of MagicMobile, the alternative to MagicBands. It seems like there is nothing you can do at WDW now unless you use your phone. You can't even have lunch without mobile-ordering. It's ridiculous!
My idea of a perfect vacation is one where I NEVER have to look at my phone.
It's so sad that about 80% of the people at WDW now just walk around with their noses buried in their phones. They are missing SO much.
I know many seniors, who are not tech savvy or comfortable, that have cancelled their trips because of Disney's forced reliance on phones. Sad. :(
You can still use MagicBands or get a Key To The World card if you so desire. At least, for the time being, these other options are not being done away with.

I don't think they will do away with MagicBands. That is probably a big money maker for them. I do see your point though. Why go on a family vacation when everyone is buried in their phones?
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Much of this makes sense, as long as they continue to have "non/low tech options". This is mirroring what we're doing at home, with ordering in advance, using our phones for more and more things, especially during covid with the push to contactless.

I was wondering...can you use the Apple Watch as a MagicBand? I don't actually own one (I like mechanical watches), but it makes sense that there would be a My Disney Experience app for the watch, and if so, could easily have all of the functionality of a magic band.
