Wondering of anyone that has flown out of Orlando recently and used ME - is the 3 hour time assigned by ME enough? Just wondering because we have not flown since all of the media hype about long TSA screening lines. Have you had enough time to get through security and get to your flight with the times you were assigned by ME? Or would anyone recommend requesting an earlier pickup time then assigned?? We'll be flying home early in Sept on a Saturday.
thanks!
Kari

I have used ME many times and often felt that three hours was too long! If you can check you're luggage at the resort you will be able to save a lot of time at the airport. MCO is one of most efficient and organized airportd in the US. Enjoy you're trip and trust the management of ME. If more time would be needed I'm sure they would adjust you're departure time.

Unlike bleen3162, I've found Orlando to be quite disorganized, particularly security, with mobs of people jostling each other until they can make their way to the structured lines in the security area. That said, we arrived extra early at the airport in Orlando in May (We had a rental car on that trip) and it was at a time when they were warning about extremely long waits to get through security. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the security lines were much better structured than we had ever seen them - with longer line areas set up - people were in established lines instead of trying to jostle their way into a line. The line area was being patrolled by security with dogs. As folks approached the actual screening area, they seemed to be treating all the lines as though they were pre-check screened and we were not required to take out out quart bags etc. As a result, we got through security quite readily and had extra time on the post-security side of the airport until our flight left.

I've never felt the three hour time line was too long. I would rather wait a bit longer at the airport than miss my flight because I'm stuck in a massive traffic jam due to accident or construction or encounter a super long line at the airport that I wasn't anticipating.

In my opinion, it depends on two things: if you are planning to check your luggage at the airport and if you are planning to eat before boarding your plane. If yes to both of these, I would advise going earlier.
