With this release, you’ll now be able to use your device to help you find your way around Walt Disney World Resort! Select a location on the app and we’ll show you convenient step-by-step directions to your destination.
Plus, you’ll notice enhancements when making dining reservations—finding and reserving a table is faster and easier than ever.

What I want to know is if the "Directions" feature adapt to various path closures for parades & fireworks? Because if it doesn't, it won't be that great of a feature IMHO.

Agreed! How disappointed would you be if you get to the castle only to find your path blocked.
It looks like it lists the turn by turn directions. It would be better if it was GPS style where it showed you the map on screen and said things like: "Turn left at Casey's Corner" or "Turn left in 10 feet."
However I would bet there are a good number of people that frequent this site who could navigate any one of the parks blindfolded.
