New DAS system

Thanks for the info. I wonder how this will work, though. The new DAS was supposed to have a picture id to prevent abuse (i.e. the grandkids taking grandpa's DAS and using it). Magic Bands are supposed to be tied to a specific person, but they don't verify that. I mean my wife hands my son her magic band for a fastpass she doesn't want to ride all the time and it's never been an issue.

I wonder if they attach a digital picture that comes up when it's scanned at the entrance. Can't wait to see how it all works.

Yes. Guests requesting a DAS will have a digital pic taken at Guest Relations. The photo will be assigned to the guest's wristband or card. When the guest and party enter the attraction the Mickey scanner will light up blue, alerting the CM to check the return time and photo.

Doesn't start until the 30th. Will just have to go back then.

Just linked my DAS to my magic band. They tap the magic band to the tablet and will also need your ticket media.

Everyone in your party needs to be entered. If you have friends joining you, you will have to go to guest services and be added. The just can't go on with you.

I'm off to Nemo to try it out.

So far, not so good. The zcM at Nemo had no idea asto what to do. She gave me an immediate FP, which is not what I wanted to do. Very frustrating... I'll cut some slack as it's the first day. Just hope it works better at MK tomorrow. Back to guest services.

Last update. I went back to GS. Mathews was helping me. I explained what happened. He walked me over to SE to see if I could get a return time. The CM there used a hand held scanner and it did give me a return time. We walked back to GS and I was finally able to see it on my iPad. It shows up as a fast pass with the return time.

If you choose not to use the DAS for the attraction and want to use it for another one. Just to to the new attraction to get a new wait time and they will cancel the other one out.

I was impressed how he went the extra mile to help out. Hopefully it won't take long to work out the kinks and get the CM's trained on how it works.

It was very frustrating to have the CM give me immediate access when I wanted a return time.
Saturday will be my big test at MK.

Today, I've had no problems at all. I like how it all works out.
