We will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this September. My SIL and BIL will be celebrating their 25th in November. We are beginning to plan an adult only 3-4 night trip beginning on a Saturday in October. Are there any weeks we should avoid due to special events? I know Oct has become a popular time to visit. We are all Disney pros, just looking for best possible week of that month.

Columbus Day Weekend/Week would likely be busy and the Wine & Dine RunDisney event is at the end of the month.

There don't seem to be any quiet times in Disney any more - just those that are a bit less busy. I agree with Figment on the times of the month that will likely be the busiest.

Also, keep in mind that the Star Wars section of Disney Studios is slated to open some time this fall. I would expect that will drive up the crowds as well.
