Photopass with Annual pass question

Hi Gang! If I purchase an annual pass, does that include free photo pass pictures such as with Memory Maker? I am trying to justify buying the annual pass. If I don't need to purchase Memory Maker at an additional cost, annual pass could be worth it for me. Would it include ride photos and character meals? Any help with this question will be appreciated!

The Platinum and Platinum Plus passes do.

Sounds almost like a no-brainer to me if you KNOW that you will be returning within the year (366 days) period the pass is good for.

I am looking to do just that during my November/December trip. I've been wanting to go back during the Halloween period, so this would give me my excuse. (As if I need one.) It would end up saving me $529 over two 7-day Park Hopper MYW tickets ($485 each @ current price) plus Memory Maker add-on ($169 pre-pay per trip.) [Prices not including tax, title, tags, etc.]

The DVC and Florida Resident Gold pass also includes the PhotoPass download option.

It really is a great perk and has to be considered as part of the equation for some folks thinking about buying APs.

How do I get the Memory Maker that is included with my DVC Gold Pass to show up and get "linked" on the MDE page? At the moment I see the Gold Passes.... (which have not been activated yet).... but Memory Maker wants me to buy it.

Appreciate any thoughts. 1st time with Annual Passes.

best,

John, it'll become available once the AP is activated. There's nothing you need to do. It's just a part of having an active AP. Once the pass is active, pictures will start
showing up under the PhotoPass tab on MDE.

When did you buy your passes? If they haven't been activated yet you should give member services a call to see if they will upgrade them to the Platinum Plus Pass special (same price as Gold)that DVC is running.

Call this a brain dead moment, but does the AP begin counting down with the date you purchased your original MYW ticket or when you first USE the MYW ticket?

This might be the only drawback I have to upgrading my ticket to an AP. I bought my ticket back in February, right before the latest price increase, but am not going to activate it in a park until the end of November (11/29 - 12/6.) If I would have a November to November time frame, all would be good, but February to February not so much.

I can fit 2 more visits in (not including my upcoming one) before the end of November 2018 -- one before mid-May to use up Southwest credits and one in October to get back for a Halloween/fall decoration trip.

I know....TMI....Sorry!!! :rotfl:

When you upgrade an unused MYW ticket to an AP, the expiration date of the AP SHOULD be one year from the date the AP is activated. Make sure you check that. The expiration date apparently has to be entered manually by the CM during the upgrade process and it is common for them to enter the date the ticket was purchased, not the date the AP was activated. I've had it happen. Easily fixed by Guest Services if need be, but verify the expiration date before you leave wherever you're upgrading the ticket.

Thanks Lynn. They were purchased on 4/27/17. Haven't been activated yet. When did the Platinum Plus DVC thing go into effect?

It was introduced on July 6th, however I did hear of some that upgraded their current passes while we were there. Since yours haven't been activated it can't hurt to call them and ask.
