So DH and I are planning a WDW trip following DD's high school graduation. Mid-May 2016. We have invited one of her friends to join us; she's been with us before. Both girls will be 18 at the time of the trip. Here's our plan so far...

We are going to get 2 rooms at a value resort, probably Pop. One room for DH and I, and the girls in the other room. Each room will be booked as a package with 6-day park hoppers. We also want to add the quick-service dining plan on the res for the girls, simply for convenience as I foresee them spending a majority of their time off on their own and not with the "rents". And that's perfectly fine with us! There may be a few rides that we make a point to all ride together for nostalgic reasons or if it's new. But for the most part, we'll go our separate ways.

Here's the question...other than wanting the rooms next to each other, is there any reason to link our ressies in MDE? I'm thinking that it may just complicate matters when we go to make our FP+ selections as two separate parties of two in different parks. And if I don't link them, is it reasonable to still request adjoining rooms? Not connecting though, at least not a must-have.

Thanks in advance for any input. I'm probably making this more complicated than it needs to be. This is our first time planning a MYW package in a long time, as we were DVC members for several years. So much has changed!

It won't hurt you in any way to link the reservations. When you select FP+, you can select who "wants" the FP+, we do this A LOT, since DH loves the thrill rides, and DD and I are quite a bit wimpier. It would be a plus if you want the rooms close-by, we do this when we travel with my Mom, and although we've NEVER had connecting rooms, we do usually get adjoining ones, which is just fine.

That being said, I don't think it is a "must" to link things either. You can still request rooms close-by, linked or not. Smile

It can seem a bit intimidating to book a trip, especially with FP+ and the different plans for you and the girls, but it isn't that bad at all. Don't overthink it. Smile
