Quick question. We are staying at Caribbean Beach and have morning dining reservations at Kona Cafe for 8:40am. What is the best way to get there? Would we take a bus to MK and get on the monorail from there?
Also after breakfast we have fast passes at Hollywood studios starting at 10am so what's the fastest way there?
Thanks for your planning advice :mickey:
Caribbean beach...were jammin'
Best way to get there would either be the bus to monorail or a cab. If you have an 840A seating it may be a bit tough to make a 10A FP at DHS. You may want to move the dining up or the FP back. The buses to DHS run every 20 minutes and it's about a 20 minute ride.

The fastest way is usually to take a taxi to your destination. They are readily available on Disney property - if you need one at a resort, just ask at Bell Services and they will summon one for you.
That said, you should have plenty of time to get a bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer to either the monorail or take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian (the boat stops first at the Grand Floridian). You could even take the ferry from the Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center and walk from there but I would likely not use this route and would either take the resort monorail or the boat).
From the Poly to Hollywood Studios, the most direct route would be take a bus.

If you're looking for the fastest and easiest way, that would be to take a cab. Obviously not the cheapest, of course.
Buses generally begin running from the resorts to the Parks (particularly MK) about 7am, so with an 8:40 ADR, you shouldn't have much problem getting an early bus to MK. But the Monorail could be an issue. The monorails are on a different schedule, and may not be running before early enough for your needs. They have been posting the monorail hours on the same flyer as the weekly park hours, so you'll want to check that before finalizing plans.
After your breakfast, you can either take a cab to DHS (again fastest), or hop the monorail to the TTC. From there you can get a bus to DHS.
Unless you take a cab, plan on 45-60 minutes (minimum) to get from point A to point B.

One more vote for the taxi (or driving yourself if you have a car)

Fastest would be taxi or drive yourself. Assuming you don't want to do either, suggest bus to MK then resort monorail to Poly. After breakfast, take bus from Poly to DHS.
If the monorails aren't running until 8:30, you could take the resort launch from MK to the Poly. Boats run every 20 minutes and go to GF first and then the Poly.
When we took a cab from POR to GF in April of 2012, the fare was $12. We didn't have anything less than a $20, so the driver got a great tip.
I would arrive early - maybe by 8 or 8:15 and hope to be seated earlier than the ADR time. Also, ask for your check when your food comes. I'd allow an hour at least for your meal.
And I'd take a cab from the Poly to DHS. When taking Disney transport I like to allow an hour, which means you'd want to leave the Poly about the time of your reservation.

One hour is a decent rule of thumb when you will be transferring from one mode of transport to another. But for a direct route, the only way it would take an hour is if there is an extreme problem.
Plenty of time to bus/monorail to your breakfast reservation, but that's way too close regardless of mode of transport for your FP times. But Poly to DHS it's bus or splurge for a cab.
