Hello everyone, some help needed please.. Has anyone taken a trip the first week in April? I thought it would not be crowded as easter is in march this year, and my child's spring break is the last week of april.. I know other schools/states may have their break other weeks, but I thought the first week would be a quiet one? The info-central section says it's crowded march through mid april. I'm taking my son out of pre-k for a week to go, and so might choose a different time if it really is crowded. Help with info anyone who can please, thanks.

Well, next year, that week is only one week after Easter so that could help increase crowds. The whole period of time is listed as busy as there are any number of schools (including colleges) that have a break some time between mid-February and mid-April. You might hit it lucky and have lower crowds, you could hit the other extreme, or anything in between. Overall, there really aren't any times any more that are "slow" though you might find a "less crowded" week here and there.

The week he is out of school at the end of April will be FAR less crowded than the week immediately after Easter. Go when he is out of school anyway.

We go every spring break too. The farther away from Easter you can get the better the crowds will be.

As has been noted on this and many other threads, there are really no guaranteed slow weeks at WDW anymore. It will almost always seem crowded, just more crowded at some times than others. We went during Christmas week last year, and it was packed to the gills. But you know what, we expected that and we still had a great time. Just don't go expecting light crowds, be prepared to go with the flow, know how to use your FP's, and you'll be fine.
That being said, anytime you go during school holidays will be more crowded than other times, and the first first week of April will be spring break for many schools and colleges.

What they said, but yeah. We are going April 21-28 because both of our kids birthdays will be then. Just lucky to find out that Easter was march 27th. So hopefully it will play in our favor.
