Just booked Disney's Vero Beach resort for 3 nights at the end of the summer. It's been about 7 years since we last visited so I have a few questions for those who have visited more recently. Christine, I'm looking at you!!! LOL

As far as dining goes, last time we tried it all. Shutter's for character breakfast and dinner, Sonya's, Green Cabin Room, and the pool bar. What we didn't do is venture offsite. We'd like to find a local seafood restaurant for dinner one night, preferably on the water with a nice view. Looking for a place with great food, and a nice atmosphere.

Also hoping to find a place that does a nice brunch, also on or near the water. We stumbled upon a great little place in Clearwater Beach a few years ago that was right on the beach, open aired, had a great menu, the best orange juice, and a killer bloody mary bar. Anything similar in the Vero Beach area?

To be honest we didn't venture out much at all last time we stayed at Vero Beach. We did spend a day at the Space Center and a little time in Cocoa Beach. Is there anything worth while in Vero or the surrounding area? We want to spend most of our time at the resort and the beach, but would like to venture out one afternoon before dinner.

Also, do we need to make any dining reservations for the restaurants at the resort? We don't want to be too tied down to times and such. Will probably have a dinner of apps and beverages in the Green Cabin Room one night. Will probably try to dine at Shutters or Sonya's on another night. I just don't remember if we need advanced reservations.

Any other advice is welcomed! Like I said, it's been quite a while since our last visit!:sun:

We are also planning a late summer trip to Vero. We have never visited and are very excited to visit.

I am following a couple of threads right now, check them out for some more info.

Disney Vero Beach and Vero Beach

There are some good tips for restaurants and things to do.

I would like to jump in for advice also. We are booked for 5 nights in late July. We are hoping to participate in some sea turtle walks.

The only reservation we have booked for dining is the Sunday brunch.
