Our one and only MNSSHP was back in early October 2008 and we had a torrential downpour the minute we walked into the Magic kingdom for the party… it rained HARD for at least an hour and then a steady rain almost the entire time but we had an absolute blast riding BTMR in the rain. We just donned our rain gear and made the best of it. Walked around in wet socks but came home with lots of candy. We were able to see the nighttime parade which was fabulous. Good luck tomorrow and I hope it's not a total washout!

Thank goodness! That summer when Hurricane Charley hit us (Punta Gorda) was miserable!

Just got back from a super quick weekend trip. So crazy...Friday night it was drizzling all night, thankfully no torrential downpours. But right about 15 minutes before the fireworks started, it was amazing. The sky cleared up and there really wasn't even much of a breeze. The show was perfect! How does Disney do that?

I wondered that myself. Grin I saw a couple of times when heavy rain was heading right for the parks then dissipated.

My trip is now in Chris's forecast range! It is still voodoo land, so I hope the temperature is a little warmer than the predicted 80. I know things will most likely change.

Hey Chris! We are leaving in the morning and some of the forecasts show heavy and severe thunderstorms for Monday September 30th. What do you see on your end? We'll be at Epcot all day for the F & WF. Thanks!!!

I'll get a full update in this afternoon when the afternoon models have run, but the issue with the 30th is there is a front coming in. The big question is the timing. The morning runs show the 29th, especially in the evening, being the time for the heavier rain with the 30th clearing out except for a few scattered thunderstorms, and those look to be more along the coast. But we'll see what things show on the afternoon models.

No major issues today or tomorrow.

Well, nothing caused by weather, anyway ;).

If you had to fly into or out of either Chicago airport today, there were definite issues. I've heard lots of flights were cancelled or really delayed because of the fire in the air traffic control building. I feel bad for anyone who was effected by this issue.

We are flying down early Monday morning.
I hope the weather isn't going to be as bad as forecasts are indicating. :(

Ha! No kidding. I'm afraid I can't forecast those kinds of issues.

No worries. Monday really doesn't look too bad to me. Just hit and miss thunderstorms. Don't put any stock in the "fill-in-your-zip-code" sites. There's no human interaction with those at all.

Of course we're scheduled to leave out of Chicago Midway in the morning. Starting to freak out after hearing of more and more cancellations.

Hopefully they'll have things back online for you tomorrow. I know they're working hard to get everything back running.
