We'll be going the 17th-24th of October. Should we so Sunday, our first full day, or Friday, our last day? I'm thinking Sunday will be a little less crowded, since Friday is getting really close to Halloween, but it would be nice to have that as our last experience. What do you guys think?

You know, a few years ago I would have said Sunday would be better, but to be honest, it seems ANY day of the week throughout October is very busy if not sold out. Especially as you get closer to the 31st, I think you'll find EVERY night near or at sell-out capacities.
We went on a Tuesday night in mid October last year (the 11th), and the party was sold out. It was mobbed. Main Street was packed all night.
Still, I would do the party early in your trip. It would be a bummer (for me) to go on our last night and find it to be crazy. I like our last night of the trip to be somewhat relaxing and a wind-down from the vacation.
And... order your tickets ASAP. That week will sell out very soon.
Despite the crowds, it's a great party with an amazing parade and fireworks. You'll love it!!

I agree! Normally I would have said to avoid Friday/Saturday, but the party is quite popular, and most nights will be busy.
Still, I think Sunday would be less busy than a Friday, and it will be an awesome way to start your trip.
