Greetings! This may be obvious, but when I use the steam setting, I have to have the water on, correct?

Thanks!

Yes, you would need the water to make the steam.

My LG dryer has a reservoir to which I have to manually add water. If you have a direct connect to a water supply line, that's fantastic! Is your machine a new model? My LG is about 8 years old.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but why would you want to introduce additional moisture into clothing you are drying in a dryer? This makes no sense to me.

Not answering for the OP, but with my dryer it's to remove wrinkles from already dried clothes.

Yes, MoD, that's correct...to remove wrinkles. In fact, it has a setting that will occasionally steam your load up to 12 hours after it's done to keep the wrinkles away if you forget to take it out.

Also, yes...this is a brand new machine with a direct water line. It came with a splitter that you use with the cold water going to the washing machine. I actually wouldn't mind if there was a reservoir to which I had to add water. That seems pretty easy, too, and you would never have the problem of forgetting to turn on the water!
