I briefly visited the AKL back in 2011 and at that time, they had night vision goggles that were available to check out, I believe free of charge, but to only a specific level of guest staying in certain rooms at the resort. I will be staying via DVC at AKV in July and wondering if they still have the night vision goggles available and what conditions do they allow guests to check them out.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

We were at the AKL last month and ran into no requirement to use the goggles.

Unless something has changed from when I was last there two years ago there are cast members out in observation areas with the night vision goggles that you could use there. I don't think you can actually take them with you.

We were there last year, just having dinner, we weren't staying at that resort, and we were able to use them in the observation area.

I've never known of a charge to use them, sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes waiting for a pair...:mickey:

We've been experiencing the night-vision goggles for many years now, and there's not been a check of any kind regarding your room level - or even if you are a guest at the resort. But you can only use them in the observation areas - I believe both the main area behind Jambo House, and the area at Kidani outside Sanaa.
It's a fun experience.
I wonder if they care much if you bring your own?
