I am wondering how to get some bakery items from the Pooh Corner Bakery (in Disneyland) put in our room ahead of time so there will be a nice surprise waiting for my girls?

I really don't think that is something Disneyland does. They have in room celebration type stuff available but it is all prearranged/select merchandise, you can't customize them with treats from a specific location.

I don't know about Disneyland but at WDW you can get pretty much anything you want for a price. They will make it happen if you are willing to pay. I would call guest services and ask.
I am assuming you are staying in one of the Resort hotels. If so, you may arrange for an in-room welcome here or contact a Disney Dream Maker at 714-781-4438. But, scanning the in-room welcome packages quickly, it does not look as if the choices are up to you except for the option of having some items personalized. And they are not cheap, $350-$550.
If you are going this month, all of Critter Country (where you would find Pooh Corner) is closed - attractions, shops, & dining. It is currently scheduled to reopen on April 3rd.
