There has been a major change in the dates for taping of the Christmas Parade this year. In the past, taping was usually done over the first weekend in December. Not so this year. :nono:
This year, taping will be done on November 10, 11, 12 and 13. Guests in the Magic Kingdom park on those dates will be allowed to participate in the taping.
DW and I participated a few years ago. It was interesting, but we did have to stand through several tapings of the same songs (by Wynonna Judd the day we were there) so that the cameras could record from several different angles.

This seems out of the blue. Some people will be happy they get to participate now and those who had planned to participate in December based on tradition will be about one month too late and probably disappointed. I am sure there is going to be a mixed bag of emotions on this one.

Interesting also is that it's not on a weekend. I guess it's just too darn crowded on the weekend now?
Have guests always been allowed to participate? Seems like I remember someone saying guests needed to register for the event. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Seems like those dates are in line with when Disneyland usually tapes.
This doesn't bother me one bit! We usually avoided MK on taping days anyway, so this makes it easier if we decide we want to visit MK on the fly those days.
Also, the tree in MK will be up for our entire trip now!

Wow! Don't they usually have a lot of cheerleading/school groups come in for this? I am sure they have already booked air, etc.
My DD has a CM ticket for the 11th. She said they have to dress up and will have to stay in their assigned location for the filming. Since we have never be there during the parade filming, I guess she'll tell me more about it later this week.
