Do not underestimate what the construction that is going on at DTD will do to the time needed to park and get yourself together.

We were there on Wednesday night and last night. Had to to park at Team Disney. Traffic really does come to a halt with people crossing the road.

Allow yourself 30 to 45 minutes extra.

Good advice! But well worth the headache now for what's to come. A parking structure is going to be SO nice!!!!

If you go during the day, it is not quite so hard to find a space and get parked. If going in the evening or on a weekend, definitely use Disney transportation.

I think the buses are all screwed up too. They have valet parking over by House of Blues that works well. Also, cabs are another good way. I think it was like 15 bucks one way from DTD to our resort.

Looks like the least hassle is the buses, which is fine if you're staying on property, but we drove up from Tampa for the day. DW uses a walker; no place to drop her off safely, no transport from the parking area except for the cabs (who are not exactly eager to serve you), and it was very hard on her.
This was during the day, and it was easy enough to park, but it must be a nightmare after dark when the parks are closed.
How very un-Disneylike.

The only way we head to DTD anymore is via one of the boats from OKW (our DVC home resort) or Port Orleans.
Driving anywhere near DTD right now is an incredible hassle and that new parking garage they're working on is one of the ugliest structures I've ever seen.
