Are there still printed Map & Times Guides at the entrances to the parks or do they expect everyone to monitor the MDE app on their phones?

You could call and ask if they'd mail some to you. The times guide tends to change so what is current today might not be during your planned visit. The guides are typically used for longer periods to time.
