Day 8 - DTD - Epcot

Our original plan was to spend the day at Typhoon Lagoon, but when I woke up it was raining pretty hard. I walked through the rain to El Centro to fill our mugs and thought up some alternate plans for the day. I figured we weren't in a real hurry so I let the kids sleep in and I explored El Centro. It was nice to take my time and look at all the details of the resort, rather than rushing through on our way to the parks or an ADR. I spent about a half hour walking through Panchito's Gifts just looking at the wares. I filled the mugs and walked back to the room. Of the suggestions I proposed, the kids voted for DTD and of course DisneyQuest. So back to DisneyQuest with umbrellas in hand:mickey:. Adding the Waterparks and more option to the ticket was a good investment for us.
We left DQ about mid afternoon. It was still raining but we were well equipped. We stopped at World of Disney and looked over the multitude of ears. DS decided on the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The rain stopped while we were in the store so the kids decided to jump around in the fountains outside Earl of Sandwich.
Our dinner ADR was at BOMA so we caught a bus to AKL. We stayed at AKL 3 years ago so it was nice to visit the resort again. We had some time before dinner so we walked around the resort and reminisced. Dinner was fantastic! BOMA is one of my personal favorites so it an become a ritual to eat there. I lost track of how many zebra domes I ate .
Our next stop was Epcot and FP+ for test track. Test track had been closed due to weather and so the lines were very long. The FP+ line was 45 minutes. We got in line and had a good time riding. We also rode Mission Space, Imagination and then found a spot to Watch Illuminations. WS was pretty busy with F&W, but we found a spot and took in the show. There was EMH until midnight so we rode Nemo, watched TurtleTalk, MS Orange again, SE twice and made funny faces. Another trip through MouseGear and then we caught a bus home.

While some may lament about a rainy day at Disney, you sure didn't let it discourage another fun day from happening! A fun day of DQ & shopping, a great dinner and some major attractions & Illuminations at EPCOT - a very nice day indeed! :mickey:

Disney has become a lot more structured over the last few years, but we still found spontaneity. Some day you just have to get a little wet. Smile
