December 5, 2016 - Monday

It's snowing at home today but here in Florida the temperatures are above normal and the predicted rain holds off the whole time we are out. Today we have breakfast at our hotel (included in the room rate) and head over to the Magic Kingdom. Again, I was able to make several fastpasses on the fly - Haunted Mansion, Pirates and Peter Pan. At the time we used our pass for the Haunted Mansion, it wasn't really necessary though it would have been had the time been for later in the day. We ride Pirates easily before our fastpass time so I look to change it to another option. Wait - 7 Dwarves is an option BUT the change won't save!!! Frustration. Neither will my attempt to change out the fastpass to It's A Small World. We get on the Railroad and I decide to get off at Main Street to complain about the issue with the fastpass system. There appears to be a long line out the door of City Hall and several groups in front of us drop out of the line. We are talking to someone within 5 minutes. Now, My Disney Experience won't even load (got it back shortly thereafter). Due to the issue we experienced, we are provided with fastpasses to 7 Dwarves that we can use at any time. Very nice!! We are able to save another option in place of Pirates on Gene's phone and are told we can keep that or change that one as well. We go directly to 7 Dwarves and get our ride which was a good thing as the ride went down for a while after that. We are able to secure fastpasses to Small World and even to Little Mermaid. The park is extremely crowded this day with most rides showing at least 30 minutes with many like Big Thunder and 7 Dwarves up around 80 or 90 minutes. We also get on the People Mover. I do secure a Pooh fastpass but cancel it when we decide to leave the MK before time for that ride rolls around.

For a snack we grab ice cream sandwiches from the ice cream shop on Main Street.

I am able to secure dinner reservations at Le Cellier so we head over to Epcot. It appears we have missed the Epcot monorail but it doesn't leave the station, the doors reopen, and they allow us on. Turns out there are problems on the line (The express monorail is also down at this time). We wait on board for a bit and then are told they will be providing buses in lieu of the monorail. We head down to find the bus. A number of folks are milling around standing in an area where a bus can't stop as they have a number of orange cones there. We walk down to the end just as a bus to Epcot pulls up and we are quickly on our way.

We use the Turtle Talk fastpasses we received yesterday - cute as always. We head to Canada and try to check in early for our reservation but they won't let us. We go outside, buy a beer, and sit on benches while we sip. The Canadian group begins to play just as we need to leave for our reservation. We wait an additional 1/2 hour after we check in. We haven't been here in a long time and won't hurry back. My steak is well prepared but the mushroom risotto is just okay - and is not served in an ample enough portion. Gene has the same dish but asked for his steak to be prepared medium - it was very rare - not the way he likes his steak but he did not bother to return it. He also ordered a side of loaded potatoes and was not impressed with that either.

After dinner we take the monorail (it is now running) back to the Ticket and Transportation Center, the tram to our section of the parking lot, and drive back to our hotel

Le Cellier, never a favorite for me, but it sounds like it has not improved any lately. Still, a day at Disney definitely beats facing snow at home!
