Today's forecast is for rain but the sun is shining when we rise. We decide to go to Animal Kingdom and I, again, make several fastpasses on the fly. We eat breakfast at the hotel and drive to Animal Kingdom.

While there, we are able to see It's Tough to be a Bug, some of the Discovery Island Trails, Festival of the Lion King, Safari (twice - once with fastpass), Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, Flights of Wonder, Expedition Everest (fastpass), and Dinosaur (had a fastpass for this but did it as a walkon).

The rains came as soon as we boarded the Safari ride. Most often, we end up on the left hand side of the tram - this time I was on the far right. With the winds, I got pretty wet. Every time, I've done this ride, I've hoped to see the elephants in the water. Today, they were frolicking in the water which was difficult for me to see given where I was sitting and I certainly couldn't get a picture of it so that was a bit of a disappointment. When we did the ride again, later in the day, we were the only two people seated in our row and, of course, the elephants were no longer in the water. As we entered Dinosaur, the ride went down for 10-15 minutes and we were held in the room where the scientist is explaining the trip to us. That was fine - it was pouring out and this room was warm and dry.

Mid-day we stopped in Pizzafari where we shared a cheeseburger flatbread. I was able to make a reservation for Yak & Yeti for 4:15 pm. By time we got to Yak & Yeti, the rain was finally starting to stop but many folks had cleared out of the parks and the restaurant was seating all comers immediately - reservations or not. We shared an order of pot stickers and each had honey chicken with rice for our meal.

With the weather vastly improved, we headed back to our car after the meal and drove back to our hotel.

Once there, I headed immediately to the shower. After clomping around in the rain all day, my feet were filthy (I had sandals on) and there had even been muck kicked up onto my legs. Felt much better to come out all clean again!!

I got our bags packed and ready to go as we will be heading to the airport early in the morning.

I like a little rain in the AK, certainly cuts down crowds. But not great when you can't get anything done without getting soaked.
