My mom will be joining me on my October trip. She is part of my reservation and is staying in my room. I plan to link by visa to my magic band so I can charge in the parks. Can she link her own card to her band or will she have to use mine since we are on the same reservation?

Thanks!

I took my mom and sister to WDW in May. We were each able to set up our own debit/credit cards and PIN numbers for our own bands so we didn't have to work out who owed whom at the end of the trip. We were all on the same reservation under my name, so it can be done.

It can be done, but for your own sanity, ask for a front desk manager to set it up for you. We had a major issue with it being set up wrong last trip and it took us like 45 minutes to settle it properly and fix it.

I've heard that too, that a "regular" front-line CM at the check-in desk may struggle with this request. I'm a bit surprised, I'd think it would be more common than it seems to be.

But, it can be done!

This. My sister and I have done this every trip and there has been an error about 75% of the time. Some are very minor such as one charge on the wrong account and that was quickly fixed. We had a major problem where nothing was separated properly in 2011 at Bay Lake Tower and in 2013 when we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge at Kidani. Like Natalie's experience, it took over 30 minutes to fix the issue, as both times were during Food and Wine, so the charge list was long.

I have not had any issues with charging when I stayed at the Grand Floridian (DVC or the hotel) or Saratoga Springs. The CM at Saratoga had her manager come over as soon as we made the request to make sure she did everything correctly.

Hi! I'm a current front desk cast member and I can tell you I get the request for multiple cards on file about every other day. It's not difficult, just time consuming because of the computer system we use. The reason it often gets mixed up is because you have to check to make sure the computer allocated the correct card to the correct band. If you don't check, there is a good chance it the computer didn't automatically do it correctly.

If you're worried, definitely just ask one of the supervisors and/or check at the desk a few days into your stay for a print out of the room charges to make sure the correct charges are going to the correct band/card
