We are trying to decide whether to get the dining plan for 4 days vs just eating at the Wine and Food Festival and counter service. Which would be the most expensive? DH likes to have the dining plan and table service at least once a day but I think if we are grazing at the W&FF we won't need the table service and can get by with counter service if we want something different. DH said to get comparison prices. What is your opinion?

I think if you went with the TS regular DP that it would be more expensive but that being said, if I recall right you can use snack credits on most of the stands at the F & W festival. Not sure if you get any AP, DVC, visa or TIW discount either ? Would be something else to look into.

No we don't get any of those discounts. But if we are concentrating just on the WFF for those four days I'm not sure we need table service. Is the counter service dining plan very much cheaper than TS dining plan? Is it a good deal or about the same as paying OOP?
I need to add that this is for 4 days we are adding onto our Sept trip for four days. We already will be there for four days with the dining plan and going to all the parks but decided to add four days just for the WFF onto the end and managed to find a room available which we couldn't find a couple of weeks ago. So we grabbed it but are wondering whether to add the dining plan or not.

It is very easy to spend a small fortune at the F&WF booths. The food portions are small but pricey. I think, honestly, the DDP may be cheaper, but then you miss out on the festival offerings.
Honestly, you can always get thr DDP, but the F&WF is not something you can always do. I'd revommend followonf following your plan and maybe have 1 or 2 TS meals as a compromise, or on your non Epcot days.

Thanks! We went last year and would have liked to have sampled more but had the dining plan and just couldn't eat that much. I am thinking just a meal or two either TS or CS as a change still won't add up to as much as it would be for the dining plan for 4 days. If we have the dining plan we will feel obligated to eat twice a day at a restaurant whether we want to or not, even using the snacks for the booths.

QS is around $40 a day for adults and TS/QS is $60 a day.

Thanks! Anyone know how much a day they spent for just the booths?

LOL. I spent $70 in like 3 hours just on myself. It's expensive. Each food item is between $4 and $10. Drinks are average of $7-9.

It is beginning to sound like I need to get the dining plan.

DH and I could very easily spend WELL over $125 a day at the booths if that's all we planned to eat and drink. Some of the foods/alcohol we purchased were around $6 each. Drinks can easily cost that, and I got some more expensive champagnes as well (over $12 each).
We sampled at F&WF about 4-5 times during our trip last October (including having a TS meal every night, and some TS for breakfast), and easily spent over $300 at F&WF. We used the little pre-paid cards you can buy at guest services, and put $100 on it three separate times, plus paid cash a few times. Unless you're a very small eater, you probably won't save much or any money trying to fill up on F&WF offerings. We used F&WF as lunch or snacking options.
